INTEGRATED COURSE

Professional recognition:

The flying training is given by a nationally accredited provider and, in conjunction with the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority, provides all statutory training for qualification, as well as the preferred options required for employment, as either light charter pilots or flying instructors. When so employed you may then accrue further flying experience necessary for entry into larger airlines. The course will give students an accredited award which will also recognize their potential for further undergraduate studies in aviation if so desired.

Career opportunities:

Professional careers in General Aviation as fixed wing pilots are available with regional airlines, leading to major airlines. Research done by the MDAC governing body and it's Chief Flying Instructor shows that the aviation industry market in the Indian subcontinent is booming and the airlines are faced with a severe shortage of pilots to operate their aircraft. Estimates indicate that 4,000 more captains will be needed to feed airline expansion plans up to 2010. WFTA has specifically developed a programme for the Indian aviation market keeping in mind Indian Civil Aviation Department's rules and regulations.

HEALTH AND TRAVEL INSURANCE

It is a compulsory requirement of the New Zealand Government for all international students to have travel, medical and personal belongings insurance to cover their duration of travel to and from New Zealand, as well as while attending a course in New Zealand. We are unable to enroll students into Wings Flight Training programs unless they have appropriate insurance.

The insurance must meet the requirements of the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. A copy of the code can be found on the following website: http://www.minedu.govt.nz

The policy should:

  • Start the minute the student leaves home for the airport on their way to New Zealand
  • Apply while in transit
  • Apply while the student is in New Zealand
  • Cover the student for a trip to other countries during the period of study
  • Cover the student for any holiday back to their country during the period of study.

Many medical and travel insurance polices that have been arranged through overseas companies may not meet the requirements for studying in New Zealand. Below are two companies that do meet the requirements of the Code of Practice for Pastoral Care:

Orbit Protect: http://www.orbitprotect.com
